3/2 divided by 2/1 (To divide by a fraction you invert the second one and multiply)

= 3/2 x 1/2

= 3/4

If you write these as upright fractions you will be able to see much better how this was done.

How do you find the cosine of 30 in simplest radical form?

Many teachers think that you should just memorize the ratios for 30, 60 and 90
I'm with Bigsk, I work it out (very quickly) every time.

for the 30 and 60 ratios

I start with a equilateral triangle with side length 2 units. (all the angles are 60 degrees)
then I drop a perpendicular down from the top and that creates 2 identical right angled triangles. The two top angles are now 30degrees each.
The bottom sides are 1 unit each,
The hypotenuse is 2 units
Use pythagoras to get the other side sqrt(4-1) = sqrt3
Now you can read all the 30 and 60 degree ratios straight off the triangle.

Our guest is completely correct.

I did it a little differently I just said there are 16 boxes, each can be on or off (2 possibilities each)
so the answer must by 2 ¹⁶ = 65,536
There is often more than one way to get to a correct solution.

did you want the square root or the cubed root.
You have asked for the square root, so I will do that.

Look at 125a^15 and take out any square factors

125a^15 = 25a^14 * 5a = 5 ² * (a ⁷) ² * 5a

6*sqrt(125a^15) = 6*sqrt[5 ² * (a ⁷) ² * 5a]

= 6 * sqrt[5 ² * (a ⁷) ² ] * sqrt(5a)

and hopefully you can finish it.
