I was having this same conversation with Zac and Rosala.

The area of a trapezium is just the average of the parallel sides  times the perpendicular height.  

Well it will probably disappear again soon, or it could triple, whatever it does it is bound to entertain. :)

Hang on a tick - you seem to have an extra minus sign in the working:/

oh sorry you explained that.    It is the black minus sign that I'd like to see gone.  

The minus sign belongs to whatever term is behind it, in this case 8xy, so it is best if they are all green :)

Our LaTex is only displaying some of the time.

Maybe it will display better if you start a new thread :/

If you look in the "Insert" drop down list, the second last one is "special characters"

The   √    is in t he 3rd row some of the indices are in there as well.    

I was expecting to find pi in there but I cannot see it.    

Now go to the fromat dropdown list.  There are all sorts of formating things in there including superscripts (powers) and subscripts.  If I was not using LaTex that is what I would use for powers.

If I wanted pi I would open up the [Math Formula] box and type in pi and hit Ok:)

oh, in latex pi is just \pi

Usually it is just a bracket.  It can also be uesd for definite integrals.  (That is calculus)
