ok I will use elimination method - I will eliminate x to solve for y, then I will substitute the answer to find x

5x + 2y = 1   (1a)       times through by 2

10x+4y=2     (1b)

2x - 3y = 8     (2a)    times through by 5

10x-15y=40

(1b)-(2b)

 10x-10x+4y--15y=2-40

4y+15y=-38

19y=-38

y=-2

Sub y=-2 into (1a)

5x+2*-2=1

5x-4=1

5x=5

x=1

so

x=1   and    y=-2

So which bit can't you do?

Put them in order from smallest to largest.

The range is the highest score minus the smallest one.

the median is the score right in the middle (or the average of the 2 middle ones)

Do that first.

f(x)=3/x+2-square root x-2

Do you mean ....

\(f(x)=\frac{3}{x}+2-\sqrt x-2\\ or\\ f(x)=\frac{3}{x+2}-\sqrt {x-2}\\ \)
