you have to multiply BEFORE you add or subtract

52-6*3+4

=52-18+4

=34+4

=36

order of operation is very important in maths

=2x^2-4x-16\\$$

it becomes 2 equations

6x-3=9 or 6x-3=-9

you have to solve each of these.  There will be 2 answers.

EDIT:  Chris is correct this IS an even function.

The domain is    $$\{x:x\in R\}$$

The range is     y=o, y=1     I am not sure how to display this properly.

This is a non-continuous graph .    I would describe it as a step graph.

I'd be interested to hear how your teacher answers these.
