A formula that you can use:

 Pct. Change as a Decimal  =  [ 2009 value  -  2008 value ] / 20008 value

To find [A]:    Pct. Change as a Decimal  =  [172,700 - 198,100] / 198,100  =  -.128  =  -12.8%

[C], [E], and [G] are solved like part [A].

To find [B]:  0.012  =  [ 2009 value - 20,600 ] / 20,600  

(multiply by 20,600):  247.2  =  2009 value - 20,600   --->  2009 value  =  $20,847.20

[H] is solved like [B].

To find [D]:  0.288  =  [ 6838 - 2008 value ] / 2008 value

(replace 2008 value with x):  0.2888  =  [ 6838 - x ] / x

(cross multiply):     0.288x  =  6838 - x

(add x):                 1.288x  =  6838   --->   x  =  6838 / 1.288   --->   x  =  $5309.01

[F] is like [D].

If the problem is this:

15m^4n^3 - 35mn^2/(5mn)

= 15m^4n^3 - 7n

5x² + 19x - 4  =  0

Let's see if we can factor this:  (5x - 1)(x + 4)  =  0

So, now either  5x - 1  =  0     or     x + 4  =  0

                            5x  =  1                  x  =  -4

                             x  =  1/5

125 / 1000

Divide both the numerator and the denominator by 5:   25 / 200

Again, divide both by 5:  5 / 40

Once again:  1 / 8. 

[4 - (3c - 1)][6 - (3c - 1)]

=  [4 - 3c + 1][6 - 3c + 1]

=  35 - 21c - 15c + 9c²

=  35 - 36c + 9c²

sin(θ/2) - cos(θ/2)  =  0

--->   sin(θ/2)  =  cos(θ/2) 

--->   sin(θ/2) / cos(θ/2)  =  cos(θ/2) / cos(θ/2)

--->   tan(θ/2)  =  1

--->   θ/2  =  45° or   θ/2  =  135°

A series is called "arithmetic" if successive terms have a common difference.

This means, that when you subtract the first term from the second (2 - 1 = 1) and the second from the third

(3 - 2 = 1), the third from the fourth (4 - 3 = 1), etc., you always get the same answer. 

The sum of a finite arithmetic series is:  Sum = N(F + L) / 2

   N = number of terms = 100        F = first term = 1        L = last term = 100

Sum = 100(1 + 100)/2   --->   Sum = 100(101)/2   --->   Sum = 5050
