Basically, you want something like #.##*10^(+ or - #):

So, 364000000 = 3.64 * 10^8 (move the decimal place 8 times to the right to get back 364000000).

Your final answer in scientific notation is: 3.64*10^8.

ln(8-4x) - ln(x^2) = ln 4

(8-4x)ln - x^2ln= 4ln

-x^2ln + (8-4x)ln - 4ln = 0

ln(-x^2 + (8-4x) - 4) = 0

ln(-x^2 - 4x + 4) = 0

ln((-x - 2)(-x - 2)) = 0

ln(x) = 0 --> x = 1 since ln(1) = 0.

(-x - 2) = 0 --> -x = 2 --> x = -2.

x = 0.

x = -2.

Yep, you have the same amount of space as the previous problems so it would be better to do so. Makes it look complete since a question without an answer may seem odd.
