To find another point:  (4 + 9, 7 + 2)  =  (13, 9).

A run is added to the x-value; a rise is added to the y-value.

A multiplier in front of a log "goes inside" the log as an exponent: 

             Example:  2ln(z)  =  ln(z²)

             Example:  3ln(x)  =  ln(x³)

You subtract ln when your initial problem was division; you add when your initial problem was multiplication:

l(A)  =  ln(y) - ln(z) + 2ln(z) - 3ln(x)

       =  ln(y) - ln(z) + ln(z²) - ln(x³)

       =  ln(y/z) + ln(z²) - ln(x³)

       =  ln( y/z · z² ) - ln(x³)

       =  ln( y · z ) - ln(x³)

       =  ln( y · z / x³ )

There are some excellent suggestions here; but presentation is so important.

You'll have to practice some, to be able to smoothly slide under the table, and to be convincing when you are feigning illness.

If you go the roses or vodka route, you'll have to think about it a little: too expensive, and the recipicent will feel "kept", too cheap, and the recipicent will feel insulted; so, spend some time thinking before you spend your money.

But, work on it this year, and you'll be able to perfect it next year when you're "asked" to repeat the course...

(Of course, the same amount of thought, time and effort spent asking questions and doing homework would eliminate the need for all the time, thought, and effort ... but, what fun would that be?)

The point-slope form is:  y - y1  =  m(x - x1)

If you call the point   (3,3) = (x1,y1)   and    (-6,-6) = (x2, y2)

and if you find the slope:  m  =  (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

and if you find the slope:  m  =  (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

                                     m  =  (5 - 6) / (1 - 4)  =  -1 / -3  =  1/3

Substitting these into the point-slope form:  y - 6 = (1/3)(x - 4)

             multiplying both sides by 3:         3y - 18  =  1(x - 4)

             simplifying:                                 3y - 18  =  x - 4

                                                               -x + 3y  =  14
