Since  x = 4,  you will need to replace  x  with  4  every place that you have an  x.

     f(4)  =  -4² +3·4 - 2

    f(4)  =  -16 + 12 - 2

    f(4)  =  -6

To add or subtract fraction you need a common denominator:  3 x 8  =  24

Logs are exponents.

You add exponents when you have a multiplication problem with the same bases.

So, if you have added logs, it was a multiplication problem.
