If you want to earn  $30.00,  use this equation:  .10n  = 30.00

Solve by dividing both sides by  .10:                       n  =  30.00 ÷ .10      

                                                                            n  =  300

What's the problem?

I am assuming that when you entered  x1/2  you meant  x^(1/2)  which is  √x.

I futher assume that the  2  at the end meant  ².

-2(√x·y)²  =  -2(√x·y)·(√x·y)  -2·(√x·√x)·(y·y)     (Since you can rearrange when you multiply)

    -2 · x · y²    =    -2xy² 

If my assumptions are wrong, please repost.

A calculator will give you a decimal approximation:  5.5 x 10^11.

If you need an exact answer:  rewrite  8  as  2³

Then  8  to the power of  10  becomes  (2³)^10  =  2^30         (multiply exponent times exponent.

Now you have:  [2^30 / 2] x 2^10

   2^30 / 2  becomes  2^29      (subtrating exponents)

and  2^29 x 2^10  =  2^39      (adding exponenst)

Use FOIL (first, outside, inside, last):                       (and adding them together)

  First:       (4x)(4x)

  Outside:  (4x)(-10)

  Inside:    (-10)(4x)

  Last:       (-10)(-10)

(4x - 10)(4x - 10)  =  (4x)(4x) + (4x)(-10) + (-10)(4x) + (-10)(-10)

                            =  16x² - 40x -40x + 100

                            =  16x² - 80x + 100

If you want  (.79)^6  enter this into a calculator this way; your answer should be close to .24.

If the problem is  (x^-3)^5:

Since you have a power (-3) to a power (5), multiply the exponents together:  -3 x 5  =  -15,

so the answer is:  x^-15.

On most calculators, use (2nd) cos(60/76).

On my calculator, I got  37.86...°
